Great-Great Gramma, Eva Hetzl was born on 25 Jul 1825 in House # 9 Spielberg, Schaferie and died 5 May 1913 in Buffalo NY. She married Johann Baptist Ruhland and they raised 4 children, including our Ana, in Buffalo NY in the latter half of the nineteenth century.
Eva was the descendant of a long line of weavers and tailors, as can be seen from the following list:
Eva was the daughter of the Egslee village Linen Weaver “leinweber”, Georg Hetzl b. 1793 Statsreid, Bavaria d. 1864 Spielberg #19 and Margarethe Liegl, Tailor ‘schneider” of Egslee, b. 1793 Kummersmuhl, Bavaria d. 1863 Schaferie.
Georg Hetzl was the son of weaver Johann “Michael” Hözl b. 1753 Germany and the tailor’s daughter, Elizabetha Liegl of Kummersmuhl.
Margarethe Liegl was the sixth of 7 children of Johann Liegl b. in Kummersmuhl, the Tailor from Egslee, d. 1827 and Magdalena Rötzer b. 1758 d. 1833.
Johann Michael Hözl was the son of homeowner and weaver, Andreas Hözl of Treffelstein d. 1773 Treffelstein and Sophia Senft, b. Wum Bavaria d. 1772 Treffelstein. Johann Michael was the fifth of seven children.
Elizabeth Liegl was the daughter of the Tailor of Kummersmuhl, Lorenz Liegl and Veronica Hannerwerger, a farmer’s daughter from Prosdorf.
Andreas Hözl was the son of Thoma Hözl of Treffelstein d. 1754 Treffelstein and a possible Anna who also died in 1754 Treffelstein.
Sophia Senft was the daughter of Georg Senft and Anna.
